In 2005, he received a BA in sociology from the University of Ljubljana with a thesis on the Mythologics of the Social Contract. In 2010, he was awarded a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Ljubljana, having written his dissertation on The Philosophical Aspects of the Relationship between Discourse and Violence (advisors: philosopher Dr. Mladen Dolar, sociologist Dr. Mitja Velikonja, anthropologist Dr. Karmen Šterk).
